Dinner at NY Tofu House

A few weeks ago, Will and I tried NY Tofu House and I was excited to try it after looking at their menu online, but unfortunately looks were deceiving.

We arrived around 8:30-8:45 and had to wait 5-10 minutes just after a table of two. I've passed by NY Tofu House many times, but never had the opportunity to go in. I was surprised at how spacious the restaurant was. After a 5-10 minute wait, we finally got seated. I looked at the menu and realized it was very different from the one online.

After our orders were taken, our pitcher of water came through. It was really, really hot inside the restaurant.
Banchan
The banchan seemed a lot smaller than usual. There was kimchi, the cold boiled bean sprouts with sesame oil, pickles with red pepper flakes, a salad, and bean sprout soup.

Salad
I really liked the salad. It was refreshing and the dressing tasted like a peanut flavored dressing.

Dolpan Bibimbap with Chicken
For my entree, I ordered the Chicken Dolpan Bibimbap which is steamed rice with assorted sauteed and seasonal vegetables served on a traditional Korean hot stone plate. It's very similar to the hot stone pot, but just on a plate. Great and yummy dish. Chicken was moist and tender.

Your suppose to mix all the contents together with the hot sauce that is provided just like you would in a hot stone pot.

Dolpan Bibimbap with  Beef
Will got the Dolpan Bibimbap with beef. Our dishes were the same except for the meat.

Will I be back to NY Tofu House? I don't know because there really wasn't anything that "wowed" me and the food was mediocre. I think I'm better off in K-town.
