Two Hands Restaurant

Hi everyone! It's been a while since I've last written here. I started working full-time for a month now and it's been super busy, fun and tiring all at the same time. So far everything is going swell.

I have a 3.5 day weekend this weekend since I got off early on Friday at 2PM and tomorrow I am off, finally can take advantage of the free time with blogging and writing my Yelp reviews! So we're back tracking to food places I've tried Mid-April and through the summer.

So,  I've been to Two Hands Cafe on Mott Street last year and I finally was able to try Two Hands Restaurant & Bar this April with a friend. We've both been wanting to check this place out.

We came on a Friday afternoon and boy was it crowded! We ended up sitting at the bar which was fine since it was just the two of us. This location is slightly bigger than the Mott Street location, but I think the Mott Street location has nicer decor and it feels more comfortable. We both ordered a drink and a toast.

Mimosa & Matcha Latte
My friend had a Mimosa. I had their Matcha Latte (that's what I tried at the Mott Street location) and it was alright. They asked me if almond milk was okay with it and I said sure. The matcha latte was unsweetened, but very refreshing. I just wished there was more of a matcha taste to it.

Smashed Avocado
For lunch, my friend had the Smashed Avocado on a sourdough with pickled shallots, cilantro, pepitas, sesame, chili and lime with a poached egg (+ $3.00). He also added bacon which costed extra, but forgot how much. The bacon was very thick. His toast looked very fresh, vibrant and absolutely filling! I think I may try it next time I come back.

Mushroom Toast
I decided on the Mushroom toast which was on a sourdough with white bean puree and arugula pepita pesto with a poached egg (+ $3.00). I was excited to eat my mushroom toast because of the different elements. The sourdough was a little tough to cut through and it took a lot of effort just to cut it. The mushroom toast was everything I had hoped for it to be. It was buttery, delicious, flavorful, and amazing except for the tough sourdough.
Overall, it was a pleasant experience at Two Hands and I am interested in trying other menu items from here. The food felt and looked very fresh and natural.

This is definitely a cute spot for brunch or lunch and a great place to come with a friend to catch up over good food and good drinks. Looking forward to my next visit here!
