Buttermilk Channel - Brooklyn, NY

As you can tell, I have changed the name of the blog and gave it a fresh new look! I decided to give the blog a much more simple, short, sweet and personal name. I've also started an Instagram account dedicated to food I've tried, eaten and/or cooked. Please follow JD'S Food Adventures on IG!

I have been tremendously behind in my blog posts/reviews, but hopefully you'll enjoy for what's to come.

Buttermilk Channel has been on my list of places to try for a long time, so I finally got to try it for my 7th year dating anniversary with my fiance back in January 2018. We came on a Sunday around 11AM-12PM and there was a 30-45 minute wait. Parking was a bit of an issue because we had a lot of snowstorm a few days prior to our anniversary.

The restaurant was pretty loud, but otherwise I thought it was homey and cozy. The service was on point and staff was very friendly!

Since it was a freezing day, I started off with a cappuccino which I thought was amazing and superb! My fiance got an iced coffee - pretty daring for him to have on a freezing day!

I ordered the Eggs Huntington (buttermilk biscuit, poached eggs, Hollandaise sauce, lox and accompanied with field greens). It's originally suppose to have Benton's Country Ham, but I substituted it with lox instead. This was one of the best poached egg combinations I've had so far! I've had eggs and lox at diners and other brunch spots before, but their version was not as good as the one from Buttermilk Channel! The poached eggs were poached just perfectly and the Hollandaise sauce was just right! I liked that the field greens were paired with the dish too because it was light and healthy.

My fiance ordered the Fried Pork Chop & Cheddar Waffles with Poorfarm Maple Syrup which looked humongous and delicious! The fried pork chop was seasoned perfectly and had a slight crisp and moist texture to it. The cheddar waffles were soft, fluffy and didn't  have an overwhelming cheddar taste/flavor to the waffles.

Overall, I thought Buttermilk Channel was a cute and comforting brunch spot! I would most definitely like to come for brunch and enjoy their outdoor seating area. I would highly recommend coming here for brunch/comfort food and it's located on a nice and quiet area of Court Street.
