Will and I made a crazy decision again. We went out not only on yet another cold day this month, but during the snowstorm where we were suppose to be hit with 10-14 inches. We went to go watch the Nets vs. Orlando Magic last Tuesday. Yep, it was cold and we were nuts. Don't worry we didn't stay the whole game and we did get home safe.
Any way, we had all access pass again - so you know what that means.
We've been to Fatty Cue before at Barclays, but decided to revisit because I wanted their amazing mac-n-cheese, specifically the brisket mac-n-cheese. Will ordered the smoked brisket banh mi, but I didn't try it because all I wanted was the brisket mac-n-cheese and absolutely nothing else.
It looks like Fatty Cue changed it up a bit because when I first had their brisket mac-n-cheese, there was no chopped tomatoes, shredded cheese, and scallions. These three new elements do make the mac-n-cheese more inviting and definitely vibrant!
Will ordered the four cheese mac-n-cheese. It was good, but not as good as mine! The brisket mac-n-cheese was amazing! Just the right amount of cheese, brisket was moist, tender, and flavorful. Oh man, it's one of the best mac-n-cheese I've had so far! I wasn't a fan of the scallions though especially since they were raw.
Next, we had the famous Sicilian pizza slices from L&B's. They tasted a lot better than the last time I had it at Barclays. Last time I had it the darn pizza was cold. This time it was hot which is good, but in my own opinion doesn't have that original, "this is the real shit" feeling, you know?
We had the lobster monster from WFAN Boomer & Carlton Kitchen again. We asked for no hot cherry peppers this time. The lobster monster was truly delicious. The lobster meat was meaty and seasoned just perfectly!
We also visited Habana again for the Mexican Corn. I wasn't too impressed with the Mexican Corn. It didn't taste authentic and didn't appeal to me either.
For dessert, we had the red velvet custard. It wasn't anything too special in my opinion.
Will we ever go to a basketball game again during the freezing weather or when it snows like cats and dogs? I'm not sure, but even if we do it's not pleasant as it is in the Spring or Fall. Most of the food we had was also good.
